November 19, 2021 THE LATEST ![]() America has a cruel habit of condemning teenagers to death in prison by Reginald Dwayne Betts Henry Montgomery, 75, who committed a murder when he was 17, was released from a Louisiana prison Wednesday, years after the Supreme Court made him eligible for parole. Montgomery won a case that made people who had been sentenced to life as juveniles eligible for release. But many plaintiffs who win such cases don’t get to go home, Reginald Dwayne Betts writes.
